Proud to present the Final Results of the SURE-VFT Project

SURE-VFT PILOT 1 I XR FOR SURVEYING ENGENEERING

EuroXR is proud to share the final outcomes of the SURE-VFT project, a European initiative aimed at transforming science education through Virtual Field Trips (VFTs). Developed within the XR4Education (XR4ED) cascade funding programme, SURE-VFT demonstrates how immersive technologies can enhance learning experiences across Europe.

SURE-VFT Project Achievements

The project has produced a comprehensive set of resources for educators, developers, and institutions, including:

  • Replication Guide – A practical resource for adapting, applying, and creating Virtual Field Trips in diverse educational contexts. Includes pedagogical frameworks, technical documentation, and training materials.

  • Pilots – Real classroom activities, such as Photogrammetry Virtual Field Trips, LULC Mapping for Remote Sensing, and Spectroradiometer Usage for Spectral Signature Definition, tested and refined throughout the project.

  • Implementation Manuals – Step-by-step guidance for teachers and developers on integrating VFTs effectively.

  • Scientific Publications – Research outputs providing insights, evaluation data, and best practices for XR-based learning in science education.

These outputs ensure that SURE-VFT can continue inspiring innovative, accessible, and effective immersive learning experiences even beyond the project’s official conclusion.

Final Event at UnitedXR Europe

EuroXR will represent SURE-VFT at its final presentation during the UnitedXR Europe Conference, held in the EU Village. This dedicated area highlights innovations from EU-funded XR projects and connects attendees with leading XR researchers, developers, and associations across Europe.

At the event, SURE-VFT will be showcased alongside other cascade-funded projects of XR4ED, providing a unique opportunity to:

  • Explore the complete project lifecycle of SURE-VFT

  • Discover synergies with other XR4ED projects

  • Engage directly with the EuroXR team and project partners

  • Learn how Virtual Field Trips can transform science education

  • Network with other European XR initiatives and stakeholders
