EUROXR 2025 I WINTERTHUR - SWITZERLAND

EuroXR 2025
September 3 - 5, 2025 | Winterthur, Switzerland
SAVE THE DATE
The European Association for eXtended Reality (EuroXR) is excited to invite the XR community to Save the Date for the 22nd EuroXR International Conference, taking place from September 3rd to 5th, 2025, at the Campus St.-Georgenplatz – ZHAW School of Management and Law, in Winterthur, Switzerland.
This year’s edition will be co-organised with ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences, with Local General Co-Chair Wolfgang Schäfer, Head of Service Lab X, leading the local coordination. Together, EuroXR and ZHAW will deliver a high-quality event that reflects the ongoing evolution and dynamism of the XR sector.
A Leading Event for the XR Community
EuroXR 2025 will once again serve as a premier platform for showcasing the latest in Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR). The conference will bring together researchers, professionals, educators, and innovators from across Europe and beyond to exchange knowledge, foster collaboration, and explore cutting-edge trends and technologies.
The programme will include keynote addresses by internationally recognised experts, plenary sessions, and Scientific, Application, and Poster & Demo Tracks, all held in a dedicated exhibition space. These sessions will provide insight into recent advances and practical applications in immersive technologies.
We are pleased to announce that Matthieu Worm (Siemens / Virtual Worlds Partnership Association) will join us as one of the keynote speakers for this edition.
Highlighting European-Funded Projects
A key feature of this year’s programme will be a joint session from the CORTEX² and SPIRIT projects, titled:
“Extended Collaborative Telepresence – How CORTEX² and SPIRIT are Advancing Innovation in XR”
This special session will showcase the results of their cascade funding initiatives, including presentations, posters, and live demonstrations from sub-projects across Europe. As both projects near completion, this session aims to highlight their real-world impact and strengthen ties within the XR research and innovation ecosystem.
Additionally, OpenVerse, Luminous, and THEIA-XR projects will be represented in dedicated workshops, further emphasizing the role of European collaboration in driving XR forward.
A Tribute to Swiss XR Pioneers
In recognition of the conference’s location in Switzerland, EuroXR 2025 will host a Tribute Session to honour Professors Nadia Magnenat-Thalmann and Daniel Thalmann, two globally respected pioneers in the XR field. Both have accepted the invitation to participate in this special moment celebrating their contributions to the development of immersive technologies.
