EuroXR is seeking a dynamic and highly connected professional to bridge the gap between technical project execution and high-level European strategy. This role is pivotal in securing the long-term sustainability of the association by winning new EU-funded mandates, advocating for the XR community in Brussels, and professionalizing our internal operations to support our volunteer network. In this capacity, we are seeking a motivated and ambitious Executive Officer Strategic Growth & EU projects to lead the operations of our association. This position is particularly suited to a junior profile with a strong technical background in Extended Reality (XR) technologies, eager to take on leadership responsibilities and grow into a role of CEO. Reporting to the Management Body, the officer will be entrusted with the efficient management of the association, ensuring financial sustainability, smooth operations, and successful delivery of strategic objectives. The position involves frequent travel within Europe (not more than one week per month).
Key Responsibilities
EU Project Leadership and Execution:
- Identification: Identify and capture new funding opportunities within Horizon Europe, Digital Europe, and other relevant EU programs.
- Consortium Building: Lead the consortium-building process and proposal writing for new XR-focused tenders.
- Project Participation and Management: Represent the association in European collaborative projects, alongside the President or the official representatives of the association, with a particular focus on contributing to the work packages involving the association – including leading specific work-packages or tasks, drafting deliverables, and managing administrative and technical requirements.
Public Affairs & Lobbying:
- Act as a liaison between EuroXR and the European Commission when needed.
- Influence EU research agendas and policy frameworks to favor the growth of the European XR ecosystem.
Brand Visibility & Communication:
- Represent EuroXR at major international conferences, workshops, and policy forums.
- Enhance the association's digital presence and thought leadership within the XR community.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Operational Management: Oversee the daily running of the association, coordinating activities, events, and strategic initiatives.
- Financial Oversight: Manage cashflow and budgeting, supported by the association’s accountant, alongside the Treasurer.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Work closely with the Communication Manager, members, and partners to strengthen the association’s visibility and impact.
- Governance & Reporting: Provide weekly updates to the Management Body, implementing their guidance and ensuring compliance with internal policies.
- Performance & Growth: Set and pursue measurable objectives; bonuses will be awarded for strong performance, while non-performance may result in penalties.
